Dejected: Girl commits suicide

BAHAWALPUR: A 16-year-old girl committed suicide in Cholistan after an argument with her parents on Wednesday.

Police said the girl, a resident of Head Hajipur, had swallowed poison following an argument with her parents. She was taken to a hospital where she died.

Separately, an unidentified body was found near Derawar Fort early on Wednesday morning.

Police said it was spotted by some passersby after Fajr prayers. Police took the body to a rural health centre in Khatri Bangla for post mortem examination.

Police said according to the initial report, the deceased was aged between 25 and 30 years.

They said he had been shot in the chest and the head. Police buried the body in Chak 121 DNB’s graveyard. Police said they had registered a case and formed a team to investigate.
