
Presiding over a meeting with divisional health officers at his office on Wednesday, Dahar said that the promotions are being cancelled following the orders of the Supreme Court. He said that corruption cases in the health department will be referred to the anti-corruption department. Dahar claimed that the matters within the health department will not be resolved till the department is made corruption free.
The minister told the officials that he had been informed that unnecessary promotions have been given to officials in certain districts. "Deserving people have been deprived of their rights," he claimed.
He directed officials attending the meeting to play their role in making hospitals free of politics and all kinds of mafias while also banning the entry of people without medical concerns so that proper care and attention may be given to the patients.
The minister discussed different issues with the officials, including the shortage of medical staff. He stressed on the importance of public hospitals in the province paying attention to service delivery and staff performance, saying that the shortage of medical staff should be eliminated.
Meanwhile, the minister showed his satisfaction over the services of Civil Hospital, Sukkur.
Sources said that the district officials promoted employees from grade one to 15 in acts of favouritism. The districts officials, on the orders of the minister, will make lists of such staff and unnecessary promotions will be cancelled after being scrutinised.
