“My wife [Vidushi) was acting in it. I was just supporting her. No plans of acting right now. I’m not an actor, although I’m constantly acting my way into selling clothes,” he said. “But no, it’s not the direction I wish to take right now. But you never know. You’re in the creative business and perhaps, every creative genre is a way of expression. So, maybe later,” he added.

For now, he’s excited about their latest collection ‘The Mahal’, which was showcased on Monday at the ongoing BMW India Bridal Fashion Week. The duo showcased the beauty of their journey to Jodhpur through the line. “We love travelling. Every season, there’s some reference to our travels [in our designs],” said Nikhil.
On what the designers drew inspiration from, he shared, “We’ve taken reference of the Sheesh Mahal and [translated it through] our clothes.” He added, “The silhouette is also inspired by the shapes of the Mahal. You realise that the design details that [constructors of the Mahal] went through were based on mathematics. They’re very intelligent designs.”
The colour palette of the collection was inspired by the fort inside the Sheesh Mahal and chariots and reflects “how interestingly the usage of gold on top of red would display the power of the king and queen.”
There were gowns with angular cuts, crop tops with lehenga, and leather bodice strapping with gowns in hues, such as chocolate, beige, teal blue and red with gold. The menswear was also well-designed. Inspired by the fort, the printed bandhgalas with fitted pants could be the next sought-after wedding outfit for men.
