KARACHI: We all know that the leading ladies of our local entertainment industry are currently at the peak of their careers. But it's not just their acting skills which receive applauds, their fashion sense is spot on too.

While Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, Ayesha Omar and Sohai Ali Abro put their best foot forward during the promotion of their films; we choose from their style four common items that every woman must have in her closet.

1. Flare up!
Your skinny jeans and slim-cuts can take a back seat as this popular 70s trend makes a fierce comeback. Mahira was spotted in a Mahgul ensemble during the promotion of Bin Roye. The style icon paired her white flared pants with a red and white embroidered sleeveless shirt.

These ladies love to make the retro trend look absolutely chic. Humaima paired her white flared pants with an electric blue top at the promotional round of Dekh Magar Pyar Se. The blue jazzes up the look, making this an ideal summer outfit.

Flared pants are a must-have as they complement your figure; give you an exaggerated silhouette and elongate your legs. Pair them up with heels in order to avoid a clustered hem.

2. Orange is the new black
Spring and monsoon are all about splash of bright hues and you can definitely add some vibrancy to your style. These fashion-forward stars once again struck the right chord by refreshing the sultry 80s trend. Humaima and Sohai proved that orange is the new black by sporting tangerine tops at different occasions.

Sohai dialed all the right numbers with a Mango off-the-shoulder top, blue skinny jeans and tan heels. On the other hand, Humaima seems to love white as she once again paired white pants with an off-the-shoulder Saira Shakira top.

The key to pull off this look is to pair it up with the right lowers. Opt for silhouettes that accentuate your figure. Also choose a pop of bright colour to make it daytime-friendly.

3. Relish and embellish
The heavily embellished Elan outfits are your safest bet for this wedding season. And with Mahira and Sohai donning these ethereal ensembles, you don’t even need to think twice. Mahira's pale taupe outfit with matching thread and sequins work exudes elegance.

The embellished belt adds a finishing touch to the attire. Pastels and floral embroidery can never go out of style, Sohai’s matte silver outfit looks visually appealing and stylish. Both outfits are a perfect choice for formal evenings.

Maintaining the palette of pastel hues, you can go easy on the crystal, sequins and thread work to suit your occasion. Simplicity is key.

4. Fashion escape: the cape
Perhaps the easiest go-to style is to wear a cape. Ayesha wore Tena Durrani’s ‘cherry flame’ cape during Karachi Se Lahore promotions and Sohai was also spotted wearing a chiffon cape by Iman Ahmed’s Body Focus Museum.

Both ladies kept their look effortlessly chic by pairing it up with a black tank top and skinny jeans. But with a cape it's best to wear heels.

A cape is the coziest addition to your wardrobe. You can mix and match it with a variety of options. Pair it up with flared pants or skinny jeans; nothing will stop you from rocking this look.
