KARACHI:

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) lawmakers and members of the Rabita Committee visited the family of the deceased party worker, Muhammad Hashim, appealing the government and law enforcement agencies to take action against the culprits.

After the visit on Monday evening, MPA Muhammad Hussain spoke to the media. "Since the start of the operation, MQM's innocent workers such as Hashim have been made victims of extrajudicial killings. I appeal to the prime minister, the COAS and the Sindh chief minister to arrest those responsible for his death."

Two days ago, Hashim's family was informed by the police that his body had been buried in Hyderabad.  Edhi Foundation's spokesperson Anwar Kazmi told The Express Tribune that they had found the body from Jamshoro and buried it on July 14. "He was identified by the fingerprints that the police had taken."

According to the party, Hashim, 40, went missing on May 6 when he was on the way to his house in Liaquatabad from Nine-Zero. An FIR was registered while his wife had also filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC). Belonging to the Liaquatabad sector, Hashim was a photographer for the party and was associated with the photo section of the Information Department.

The 40-year-old leaves behind three children. Meanwhile, the party has submitted an application in Hyderabad, requesting that his body be brought back to Karachi for burial.
