HYDERABAD: A police constable was shot dead and another critically injured in an armed attack by unknown assailants at a police check-post in Nawabshah district late on Wednesday night. The incident occurred near the Abdul Haq railway crossing in Baandhi. “We are investigating the incident and haven’t identified the attackers yet,” said SSP Pervez Umrani while speaking to the media on Thursday at the funeral of the slain policeman, 50-year-old Abdul Qayum Rajput. He claimed that the police would trace the suspects within 24 hours.
