PM discusses Pak-UK ties with British secretary

The British secretary underlined the importance of bilateral ties with Pakistan

British Secretary of State for Defence Rt Hon Michael Fallon called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday and the two discussed matters pertaining to regional situation and bilateral matters.


The prime minister congratulated Fallon on the Conservative party’s electoral victory and asked him to communicate the same to British Prime Minister David Cameron. There is a lot of scope for cooperation between the two countries in the areas of trade, investment and education.

The British secretary underlined the importance of bilateral ties with Pakistan and said this relationship continues to benefit both the nations.  He also appreciated the role of Pakistani diaspora in Britain. Both sides agreed on cooperation between the two countries under the Enhanced Strategic Dialogue.


Fallon also called on Army Chief General Raheel Sharif. Matters related to defence and security cooperation were discussed in the meeting.
