FAISALABAD: A maid was found dead at the house of a University of Agriculture assistant professor near Civil Lines police station on Wednesaday.

According to her father’s complaint registered at Civil Lines police station, the 16-year-old had been working there for a year.

“Three days ago, she called me and told me that she was being harassed by the professor’s husband,” he said. “She said she was uncomfortable and wanted to leave the job.”

He told police that while he was making arrangements to bring her home, the professor’s husband called him and told him that his daughter had committed suicide.

The body bore signs of torture,” he said. He said he had taken the body to a morgue for post-mortem examination.

The Civil Lines SHO said police had registered the FIR and had formed a team to arrest the suspects. He said police were waiting for the post mortem report.
