LAHORE: More than 300 saplings have been planted at Lidhar and Jhulkay School Campuses of The Citizens’ Foundation (TCF) under a drive launched by The Lahore Conservation Society on July 25. The campaign, Park Bachao Tehreek, targets 18 TCF campuses. Speaking to The Express Tribune, Ali Amjad from the Lahore Conservation Society said they had received a healthy response from volunteers since the event was open to the public. “Nearly 50 volunteers from various schools are participating,” he said. The species planted included keekar (prosopis juliflora), sheesham (dalbergia sissoo), sukh chain (pongamia pinnata) and kachnar (phanera variegate). The plantation drive will continue until the end of August. The volunteers will visit two more campuses on Saturday and Sunday. “We hope to see more volunteers this time,” said Amjad.
