They said contaminated drinking water was also aggravating the problem and causing health hazards.
A resident of the area Nasir Khan said water was abundant, but due to faulty pipelines most was wasted. He said the hygienic condition of tanks was deplorable. Another resident, of the area Amna Ayaz requested the authorities to install water filtration plants in the town. Meanwhile, the residents of Bhara Kahu urged the district administration to also provide clean drinking water to them as they are facing acute water shortage.
Residents complained that authorities removed the only filtration plant in the area. Residents of Muslim Town, Madina Town, Malikabad, Rajagan Street, Tuheedabad, Dhok Jilani, Simly Dam Road, Kiyani Road, New Abadi, Abdullah Town, Shahpur are facing water problems.
