Eight prisoners on death row were hanged in prisons in Attock, Sargodha, Gujrat, Multan, Kasur and Jhang on Wednesday.


Three were hanged at the Attock Central Jail. Muhammad Usman and his father Aftab Ahmed had murdered a father and his son in a property dispute in Attock in 1998. The third convict, Safdar, was hanged for a double murder committed in 2003.  Muhammad Nawaz was hanged at the Sargodha district jail for murder committed in 2002.

Nayyar Ebad, a resident of Muzaffargarh, was hanged at the Multan Central Jail. He was found guilty of murder in 1996. Convict Gulfam alias Gullu, was hanged at the Gujrat District Jail.

According to prosecution, had murdered a man in Jalalpur Jattan in 2001. Muhammad Tufail was hanged at the Kasur District Jail for killing a man and his son in 2001.

Ahmed Din was hanged at the Jhang District Jail for killing Shireen Khan in a land dispute in April 2001. As many as 11 convicts have been hanged since Eidul Fitr.
