CNG stations to remain closed today

LAHORE: Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) will disconnect the gas supply to all CNG stations situated in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces every Tuesday for observing gas holiday and this decision will be effective from April 27 (today).

This was decided in a meeting held at the SNGPL head office here on Monday between CNG station owners and company officials. All Pakistan CNG Association Punjab President Capt (Retd) Shuja Anwar told PPI after the meeting that all CNG stations in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would observe gas holiday every Tuesday.

The CNG owners also expressed their concern over Sindh and Balochistan provinces and stressed that the same policy must be applied equally in all parts of the country.

The participants of the meeting were Capt (Retd) Shuja Anwar, executive members of CNG Association Ahsan Ahmad, Muhammad Faizan and Anjum Saeed. SNGPL General Manager sales Maqsood Ahmad and Chief Sales Officer Rehan Nawaz also attended the meeting.

Speaking to Express 24/7, all Pakistan CNG Association Chairman Ghaias Paracha said the decision had been taken after a consensus was reached between all stakeholders.

Association President Captain Shujha said CNG stations will remain closed for 24 hours with effect from 6am. He added that the notification will remain functional for two months during which the decision will be analysed and reviewed.
