Russian beauty queen exposed as neo-Nazi

Olga Kuzkova stripped off title as pictures showing her tilt towards white supremacy surface

It seems that Hitler apologists have seaped into the realms of Russian sports entertainment. A beauty queen, who was recently named the Russian football league’s ‘Miss Charming’, has been stripped off her title after she was exposed as a neo-Nazi, reported ABC.

The move comes after photos were posted on Russian social-media service VKontakte, featuring Olga Kuzkova, 21, extending her hand in a Nazi salute as she stood in front of racist graffiti. Indicating her tilt towards neo-Nazism and white supremacy, she is pictured touting numbers that are code for ‘Heil Hitler’ and striking a pose with her beau in a photograph captioned ‘White Love’, according to the Washington Post.

A meme she shared shows a woman in a maid outfit bearing a swastika armband as she stands before a flaming hearth. The image is captioned with text that calls for the burning of Jews and ‘khachi’, which is a derogatory term referring to the natives of the Caucasus. In another picture, a young girl wearing a white supremacy T-shirt is seen in front of a Confederate flag, with the caption, “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for the white children.” Charming, eh?

What is a display of abject racism, Kuzkova also shared two joined pictures, with one featuring a popular candy bar made of chocolate spheres, and the second with a group of African children. Implying that the chocolate slab bears resemblance with the children, she titled it, “I love chocolate, but after this image, I developed an … aversion.”

Every year, Russia’s top 16 soccer teams pave the way for a female fan to enter into a nationwide beauty pageant. This year, Kuzkova, who supports CSKA Moscow, was selected to represent the team in the Miss RFPL beauty pageant. The CSKA Fans Against Racism Facebook page condemned the pictures shared by her. “Olga, how could you represent a football club whose president is a Jew after saying you want to burn [Jews] in an oven?” read a statement.

Kuzkova’s case is just another one of the racist instances that have surfaced in Russia, just as the country prepares to host the 2018 World Cup. The Russian football season set off with controversy, with Emmanuel Frimpong, a British-Ghanaian midfielder for a team from the city of Ufa, was humiliated by a group of Spartak Moscow fans. In retaliation, he made an angry gesture towards the stands, which earned him a multiple-game ban and landed him in trouble with his team’s management.
