Dengue Preparedness: ‘Ensure timely drainage of rain water’

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed the departments concerned to stay vigilant during the rainy season to prevent a dengue outbreak in the province. In a directive issued on Wednesday, he said like previous years every possible measure should be taken to protect people from the disease. He said timely drainage of rain water should be ensured from streets and a plan should be prepared for the purpose. The chief minister said hard work and dedication of the provincial government officials had ensured that was no outbreak of the disease in the past two years. He added that he expected the same commitment from the officials this year as well.
