Tragic cause of death revealed for Ryan Kobayashi, father of missing Hawaii woman Hannah Kobayashi

According to LAPD, Ryan, 58, was found dead near LAX, weeks after arriving in LA to search for his missing daughter.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has confirmed that Ryan Kobayashi, the father of missing Maui woman Hannah Kobayashi, tragically died by suicide over the weekend. 

The 58-year-old's body was discovered early Sunday morning near Los Angeles International Airport, just weeks after traveling to LA to search for his daughter, who has been missing since early November.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Ryan's body was found around 4 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24, at 6151 W. Century Blvd., a business near LAX. 

Following an investigation, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death was multiple blunt force traumatic injuries, with the manner of death confirmed as suicide.

A family member of Ryan's shared an emotional message on a GoFundMe page set up to support his fiancée. 

The post reads in part: "He has been living his absolute worst nightmare, since Hannah's disappearance, and now, with his passing, our family is grappling with unimaginable grief. Ryan's love for his family was boundless, and he would do anything to protect and care for his daughters."

Ryan Kobayashi had flown to Los Angeles in early November to assist in the search for his daughter, Hannah, who disappeared after a layover at Los Angeles International Airport. 

The 30-year-old woman was traveling from Maui to New York City on Nov. 8 when she was last seen at LAX. 

Over the next several days, Hannah's family received cryptic text messages and glimpses of her in online videos, but she has not been heard from since Nov. 11.

The disappearance of Hannah Kobayashi has sparked widespread concern, and authorities are continuing their search efforts to locate the missing woman. Ryan's tragic death has added another layer of heartbreak to a family already dealing with the uncertainty and anguish surrounding his daughter's disappearance.

As the family grapples with both the disappearance of Hannah and the loss of Ryan, they are left to mourn the devastating impact of these events. 

The GoFundMe page established in Ryan's honor is raising funds to support his fiancée and family during this difficult time.
