Sacrificing holidays: Over 2,000 sanitary workers kept city clean

Authority says workers and supervisory staff worked in three shifts and kept the city clean

ISLAMABAD:

More than 2,000 workers of the sanitation directorate and other relevant formations of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) performed duties during the Eid holidays in the federal capital.

The workers and supervisory staff worked in three shifts and kept the city clean, according to a press release issued by the authority.

CDA Member Administration and Estate Amer Ali Ahmed also reviewed the progress of facilities provided by different formations and appreciated the cleanliness of Eid Gahs, recreational spots and parks during the Eid holidays.

Ahmed said uninterrupted water supply was ensured to all residential areas and emergency water tanker service was available round-the-clock to meet any deficiency.

He said the fire brigade service also responded to a number of calls including fire incidents at a bakery, a hostel and two houses.
