According to Variety, Sword in the Stone is loosely based on T H White's novel of the same name, the animated version followed a 12-year-old orphan named Arthur who became king after removing a sword from an anvil in London.
Confirming the news, Cogman tweeted that he is excited about the project.

In comparison to Game of Thrones, Sword in the Stone will be on a much lighter note. It famously is the last Disney animated movie released before the death of Walt Disney. Brigham Taylor, who became the exclusive producer of Disney last year will back the project.
In addition to his commitments to Game of Thrones, Magic: The Gathering and Sword in the Stone, Cogman is also developing an adaptation of Jennifer A. Nielsen’s The False Prince novel for Paramount Pictures
Disney Studios is currently working on the live-action versions of Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson; The Jungle Book, Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh, Tinker Bell, Fantasia and an Aladdin prequel.
