Rahim Yar Khan police on Wednesday finalised security arrangements for Eid.


A police spokesman said 2,200 policemen would be deployed for security around 507 congregations. He said a control room been set up at the DCO’s office to monitor arrangements.

He said the district had been divided in five zones and 27 sectors. He said 52 areas had been declared extremely sensitive and 51 sensitive.

The spokesman said Elite Force, Muhafiz Squad, Quick Response Force and Special Branch would be deployed in sensitive zones. He said CCTV cameras had been installed around Eidgahs and metal detectors and walk-through gates had been set up.

The spokesman said officials of Special Branch would check Eidgahs before the Eid prayers. He said police would be deployed on entrances and exits of mosques.
