Illegal migrants: 43 Pakistanis enter South Africa

LAHORE: Human traffickers from Pakistan have succeeded in sending 43 migrants illegally to South Africa through a newly discovered land route, The Express Tribune has learnt.

According to an official letter obtained by the paper which was sent by Deputy Head of Mission in South Africa Najeeb Durrani to the Pakistan government, a group of 43 Pakistan nationals have illegally crossed over to the country via a land route through Mozambique.

Copies of the letter have been sent to the ministry of foreign affairs, ministry of interior, director general Federal Investigation Agency, director general immigration and passport and other departments concerned with this.

The letter also states that the migrants were brought to Tanzania by their agents, so that they could further cross into South Africa.

The letter further  asks the immigration authorities to take these individuals in custody if they come back to Pakistan.
