Thebo also revealed that three of Nasir accomplices, who were previously running a group involved in killing a number of people on sectarian basis, were already behind the bars

Speaking to the media, Karachi police chief said the police would also take action against people involved in financially supporting these killers including several seminaries that preach sectarianism. “We are closely monitoring the seminaries in Karachi and will take action whenever there is information,” he said.

In September 2014, Jafria Alliance Pakistan chief and former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) senator Allama Abbas Kumaili’s son, 42-year-old Allama Ali Akbar Kumaili, was shot dead in Bhangoria Goth, along with his guard, within the limits of the Azizabad police station.

Both men were taken to the Ziauddin Hospital in critical condition but succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment.
