FC arrests 6 suspected terrorists in Quetta

Official says 16 smugglers were also arrested in Qila Abdullah

QUETTA: Frontier Corps (FC) arrested four terrorists of a banned militant organisation on Friday morning in a search operation near Sariab road in Quetta, officials said.

Acting on a tip-off, the suspected militants were arrested during an FC search operation in the area.

Further, in Absor area of Turbat, upon receiving intelligence reports, officials arrested two suspected militants. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.

Meanwhile, FC also arrested at least 16 smugglers in Shella Bagh area of Qila Abdullah district.

As per reports the smugglers were travelling on Chaman Express with smuggled goods and held the train driver and passengers hostage when the security forces tried to intercept it.

However, after conducting a successful operation the FC arrested the smugglers and recovered a huge amount of smuggled items which were handed over to the customs official while the arrested smugglers were handed over to the police for further investigation.
