Faisalabad police have received 50 biometric machines, CPO Afzaal Kausar said on Thursday.


Addressing a ceremony held for distribution of the biometric machines at Kotwali police station, the CPO said it was imperative that police be adequately equipped to maintain law and order.

He said the Punjab government wanted to make policing more effective and had introduced a number of new gadgets and devices for the purpose.

He said the provincial government had provided 50 biometric machines to Faisalabad police to improve security in the district.

He said each police station would be provided a one of the machines. He said 10 devices would be placed at entry and exit points of the district.

He said the biometric devices would help verify fingerprints and CNICs with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

He said policemen would be trained in their use.
