LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Tariq Javed on Monday acquitted a man and his son of murder charges.

Tariq Aziz and Sumair Tariq were accused of killing Mehran Ali, a nephew of Tariq Aziz. The complainant’s counsel told the court they had strangled Ali in 2008. They had fled on seeing the complainant, the lawyer said. Counsel for the accused said the complainant had implicated them in a false case to claim their property. Separately, an additional district and sessions judge acquitted Muhammad Munawwar of killing his wife, Qaisar Sultana, over a property issue. Safdar Khursheed, a brother of the deceased, had lodged a murder case against Munawwar in 2008.
