Aswj leader’s arrest: Charge-sheet submitted in ATC

RAWALPINDI: Officials of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday submitted a charge-sheet against the central president of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) Allama Aurangzeb Farooqi and district president Tanvir Alam Farooqi in an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi. Farooqi was arrested from Taxila on June 6 while heading to Havelian on a personal visit. Meanwhile, a team of police officials from Lahore have reached Rawalpindi for shifting Farooqi to Lahore from Adaila Jail for further investigation. In this context, the police team will appear in ATC on June 30 and will obtain physical remand of Farooqi.
