LAHORE: A 400-member delegation of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), including leading business tycoons, will hold a series of marathon meetings with Chinese investors, who are accompanying the Chinese prime minister on his three-day visit to Pakistan.

FPCCI President Sultan Ahmad Chawla, told the APP on Thursday that prominent Pakistani magnates will ink memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with their Chinese counterparts in different sectors.

The forthcoming visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to Pakistan will enhance the volume of trade between the private sectors of both the countries, Chawla added. He said that the Chinese premier’s visit to Pakistan will strengthen and boost trade relations with the private sectors of the two countries.

He said that China must help Pakistan to meet its ever increasing power, gas and water requirement. He added that the inability to meet these requirements was badly affecting the national economy. Chawla said that there is vast scope for Chinese investments in the agriculture, livestock, communication, IT, water and power sectors.

He also said that China should help exploit Pakistan’s rich natural resources, which will improve the national economy and provide ample job opportunities.
