                                        RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi Education Department has issued show-cause notices to 350 teachers for being absent from examination duties. The teachers had been assigned duties of the Higher Secondary School Certificate examination held under the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (RBISE), but they did not turn up for the job. An official told Online that the absent teachers have been issued show-cause notices, seeking explanation. He said that stern disciplinary action will be taken against the absent teachers. A teacher while requesting anonymity held the RBISE responsible for the absenteeism saying “whether its exams duty or marking of answer sheets, the teachers are made to wait for years before their bills are cleared”. He said that the board officials treat the teachers disrespectfully, when they inquire about the pending bills.
