Dejected: Three women commit suicide in Rahim Yar Khan

BAHAWALPUR: Three women committed suicide in the district on Thursday.

Police said an 18-year-old girl in Ameenabad swallowed poison after her parents told her they had arranged her marriage with a relative. They said she was taken to a hospital when she fainted. Doctors at the hospital declared her dead on arrival.

Police said a 28-year-old woman from Dera Bugti had an argument with her husband, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan and swallowed a large number of sleeping pills. She died a few hours later. They said a 50-year-old woman in Chak 92P swallowed pesticide after an argument with her children. Police said she was taken to a hospital where she died.
