Deadly exchange: 3 killed, two injured in neighbourhood clash

FAISALABAD: Three people were killed and two others were injured when two groups clashed over a quarrel between children late on Friday evening.

A Dijkot police spokesman said Rafaqat Ali, a resident of Chak 281-RB, had argued with Muhammad Azam after their children had a fight while playing in the street.

He said Rafaqat and his friends Kaleemullah and Muhammad Abid were standing a chowk near his house after taraweeh prayers when Azam and some accomplices shot at them.

Ali, Kaleemullah and Abid died on the spot. Passersby Adnan Ahmad and Muhammad Rashid were hit and taken to a hospital in a critical condition. Police took the body to the morgue for post mortem examination.  Dijkot SHO Nasir Nawaz told The Express Tribune that police had registered a case on the complaint of Muhammad Shaukat under Sections 302, 324, 311, 148 and 149 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against accused Muhammad Azam, Muhammad Parvaiz, Muhammad Nadeem, Muhammad Sultan, Muhammad Babar and Farhan Ahmad and started investigation. He said a team had been formed to find and arrest the suspects.
