The Model Town killings of June 17, 2014 are the worst example of human rights abuse in the Punjab, Tehreek-i-Minhajul Quran federal council president Dr Hussain Mohiyuddin Qadri said on Thursday.
He said that the violence would lead to a new Pakistan where justice was available.
“The incumbent rulers are the biggest obstacle to the formation of a free, law-abiding and peaceful Pakistan. Under their rule, law works only for the powerful,” he said.
He said that Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) wanted to raise awareness for a peaceful country, where everyone was equal before law. He said that PAT leadership would continue its efforts to bring the Model Town culprits to the dock. “With the help and support of our workers, we will prove that justice is not only for the wealthy and the influential,” he said.
He said that the injured workers deserved praise for not succumbing to government pressure.
