CHITRAL: Locals came out in huge numbers to protest against prolonged load-shedding in Jaghoor Chitral on Thursday. The duration of outages has increased over the past week, adding to the miseries of locals. Women and lawyers blocked Peshawar-Chitral Road near the Municipal Committee Chowk and shouted slogans against lawmakers, district administration and Water and Power Development Authority officials. The demonstrators even attempted to set fire to the Wapda office. Talking to The Express Tribune, Awami National Party activist Khadija Sardar said the government is making no efforts to improve the lives of Chitralis. Chitral AC Saeed Qaiser  held negotiations with the protesters and assured redressal.
