PESHAWAR: The provincial chapter of Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) has urged the government to conduct an enquiry over the arrest of university professors.

The arrests were made a day earlier outside Archives Library Hall in the provincial capital where a syndicate meeting of University of Science and Technology Bannu was being convened. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Higher Education Department (HED) Secretary Muhammad Ali Shehzada and the university’s vice chancellor (VC) Abdur Rahim Marwat.

During this meeting, 27 professors had intended to voice their reservations to the syndicate members. However, security guards did not allow them to enter the premises.

Insiders told The Express Tribune, the guards did not specify a reason for denying them entry. As a result, a heated argument broke out among professors and security guards.

Subsequently, the professors spent an entire night behind bars.

They should just shut up. These so called Prof. from Bannu who are by no way different than a lay man, as their actions speak, is sub branch of this mafia.
