From Kurram: Two killed in targeted attack

The police believe the actual target of the assault was Bashir Ahmed

PESHAWAR:


Two people were shot dead on Pajjagi Road on Friday. Honey dealer Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Kurram Agency, was on his way to his shop on Paijagi Road when unidentified assailants near Tableeghi Markaz opened fire on him.


Khazana resident Gohar, who was standing on the other side of the road, was also hit by bullets and died on the spot. The latter’s bereaved family said he had no enemies. The police believe the actual target of the assault was Bashir Ahmed. Police registered an FIR and started an investigation.


Last month, two men were killed and the same number injured when unidentified men opened fire on a car in Hayatabad, Phase I. The police had said it was a sectarian attack. The victims were also from Kurram Agency.


The shooters in the same incident were in a car and opened indiscriminate fire, killing Murtaza, an engineer, and Hussain, while Awais and his father Jan, a retired doctor, were wounded.
