A three-member Chinese academic delegation of Yunan Open University (YOU) has assured its support for setting up a Chinese Language Centre and launching online short courses in printing technology for benefit of Pakistani students. The delegation was visiting Pakistan on invitation of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Thursday.

The delegation met AIOU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui and it was decided to implement memorandum of understanding signed by the two universities last year. The two sides will jointly design the academic programmes. Leader of the delegation Prof Shi Xudong invited the VC to visit YOU for signing the agreement. It was also agreed to start exchange visits of teachers and students for updating knowledge and skill.

Welcoming the delegation Siddiqui said that bilateral cooperation and Chinese language learning will be highly beneficial for Pakistani people especially because of China-Pakistan economic corridor.

The other members of the delegation were Prof Wang Jingzhen and Prof Yin Zhiqin.
