KARACHI:

The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has lent a supporting hand to the national hockey team by promising to bear all its expenses for the 2016 Rio Olympic qualification round which will be held in Belgium this month.

The Pakistan Hockey Federation has failed to support the team financially due to a lack of funds but the PSB has stepped forward and will bear the travelling, accommodation and daily allowances of the players.

The PSB will finalise the total amount of funds after the team is announced on Friday. “The players will be given $20 per day, while other expenses will be announced after the team is finalised,” PSB director Akhtar Ganjera told The Express Tribune.
