FAISALABAD:

Illegal occupants of Tibba Colony near the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) City have been given a week’s time to vacate before an operation is launched, said FDA Additional Director General Amir Aziz on Sunday.

Talking to The Express Tribune, work on power supply to allottees of FDA City was underway along the Main Boulevard of the scheme. He said residents of A and F blocks would have power supply by end of June.

Aziz said a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was being signed with the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) to install a 92 megawatt electricity supply system at the FDA City which would be completed under a phased programme.

He said gas and water supply would soon follow. Amir said some 70 allottees in A-II block had complained that they could not get possession of their plots. He said these complaints would be resolved in a few weeks.

Amir said there were 83 illegal occupants in Tibba Colony. He said they had been given three-marla plots after they gave up their residences. He said they were living there illegally. He said they had been asked to take possession of their allotted plots immediately and vacate their residences in a week.
