Development: ‘Complete Metro Bus project early’

He said only 20% of the work had been completed so far and expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of construction

MULTAN: Metro Bus Project Chief Engineer Sabir Khan Saddozai said on Thursday that development work along the metro bus route should be completed as soon as possible. He said only 20 per cent of the work had been completed so far and expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of construction. He said 406 piles had been launched and their capping was underway. He said contractors should expedite the pace of construction. Saddozai said equipment should for checking quality of materials be made available at the central laboratory. He gave weekly targets to contractors and told them that their work would be monitored. Contractors were also asked to clear garbage and debris from alternative routes. He was told that work on a 1,500 metres segment of the ground route had begun while electric poles had been removed from Khayyam Cinema Road. Contractors were also asked to install tower lights and prepare schedules to carry out work during day and night. Metro Director Khalid Pervaiz were also present.
