LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday granted bail to the main suspect in the Yousaf Khokar murder case.

Justice Abdul Sami Khan of the LHC granted the bail in a hearing earlier this morning.

In March this year, police had claimed that Tooba had confessed to having poisoned Khokhar, by spiking his juice with cyanide at the Model Town Park, where his body was later found in November 2014.

Tooba's lawyer told the court that according to a forensic report, Khokar died of a heart attack, hereby requesting the court to grant his client bail against two bonds worth Rs0.1 million each.

Khokar, a photographer, was married to Tooba who later divorced her; which police suspect to be a reason for her to commit the murder.

Tooba had also confessed to killing a Lahore-based model Abeera, by poisoning her yogurt while initial forensic reports of the 20-year-old also confirmed the cause of death as poisoning.

Following investigations however, police said that two bottles of poison were found in Tooba's room which she had allegedly bought from her accomplices Farooqur Rehman and his friend Zeeshan.
