SRINAGAR: A Huriyat spokesperson Yasin Malik on Friday was arrested for waving the Pakistani flag at Kashmiri leader Shabir Shah's rally in Srinagar, Express News reported.

As the rally commenced in Anantang, the Pakistani flag was waved after which Malik was taken into custody along with many of his supporters.

Just last month, Huriyat leader Masarat Alam waved the Pakistani flag to greet Kashmiri separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani at a rally in Srinagar.

Kashmiri leaders had organised the rally against the atrocities of the Indian state in Kashmir.

In previous rallies, Indian media reported that pro-Pakistan slogans were allegedly chanted after which India reacted furiously.

Earlier in March, an FIR was registered against Kashmiri leader Asiya Andrabi for unfurling the Pakistani national flag on March 23 in Srinagar. She was booked under the ‘Unlawful Activities Prevention Act’.
