LAHORE:

The federal government should improve efficiency of public sector enterprises rather than considering their privatisation, All Pakistan Hydro Electric Worker’s Union (APHEWU) general secretary Khurshid Ahmed said on Wednesday.

He was speaking at a seminar at Bakhtiar Labour Hall on proposed privatisation of electricity supply companies.

Syed Sajid Kazmi, an office bearer of the All Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Workers Union, said the union would not let the government proceed with the planned privatization of any other electricity supply company in the country. HRCP secretary general IA Rehman expressed his support for the union’s drive against privatisation.

Later, the house passed a resolution expressing sorrow over the killing of two lawyers in Daska.
