Ongoing case: Mirza, his aides get extension in bail

ATC-III approved interim bail against a surety bond of Rs100,000 for each of the suspects till May 30

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) extended the bail on Monday of former home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza and his 18 aides in a case registered against them at the Darakhshan police station on May 16. Mirza and his supporters were booked under the anti-terrorism act following an alleged scuffle with law enforcers at the police station where the former minister went to record his statement as per court orders. The ATC-III approved interim bail against a surety bond of Rs100,000 for each of the suspects till May 30. Separately, the same court sent the former minister’s 11 supporters, including his guards, to jail on a two-week judicial remand. The suspects were taken into custody outside the SHC on Saturday by the Sindh Police’s Special Security Unit.
