KARACHI: Actor-cum-producer Humayun Saeed has said that the fortune of the Pakistani film industry changed ever since multiplexes and technologically-advanced cinemas opened in the country. He believes that a major reason behind the increase in cinema-going audiences is the provision of a more cordial environment.

“If the environment in cinemas is good then people would definitely come here and watch movies with their families,” Saeed told Roznama Express. “Nowadays going to the cinema is the best form of entertainment,” he added.

However it was the success of his film production venture, Main Hoon Shahid Afridi, which gave him the confidence to venture into more feature films. “The film made me realise that people want to see quality cinema and the box office performance of the movie helped our film industry progress. I am optimistic about the future of Pakistani cinema, but in order to keep on progressing we need to stay away from formula films.”

The television and film actor has two films in the pipeline that are expected to release later this year including Jawani Phir Nahi Ani and Bin Roye.  “I used to do one film in a year. It’s the first time I am doing two of them, both being very different. So, we decided to delay Yalghaar for the next year,” remarked the actor in an earlier interview.“I am waiting eagerly for the release of both movies. Both of them are very different from each other and have been made by experienced film makers,” he added.
