GUJRANWALA/ MULTAN/ FAISALABAD: At least three more death row prisoners were hanged on Thursday in Gujranwala, Multan and Faisalabad prisons, Express News reported.

Abbas was executed in Multan jail for murdering his uncle as well as his son in 1998 while Aijaz was also sent to the gallows in Gujranwala jail for committing a murder the same year.

Shaukat Maseeh was hanged in Faisalabad jail by the prison authorities.

As soon as the investigation was completed, the bodies of the three convicts were handed over to their families.

The execution of murder convict Amjad Ali was also postponed in Gujranwala jail.

After a six-year moratorium on execution of death penalties, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in December 2014 allowed capital punishment for those who have already been sentenced to death in terrorism cases.
