Overdue: UC secretaries call for promotions

Protesters chant slogans, urging the government to promote them

FAISALABAD:

Scores of union council secretaries on Wednesday staged a demonstration and urged the government to look into the matter of their promotions.

They gathered in front of the TMO’s office in Lyallpur Town and staged a sit-in. Farooq Butt, a protester said the union council secretaries had been working on the same post for many years. He said promotions were long overdue. “We wrote a number of applications in this regard but no one took notice of our concerns,” said Muhammad Khan Kullo, another protester. The protesters chanted slogans, urging the government to promote them.
