LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Tuesday sought a report from the Lahore division commissioner on May 26 on a petition seeking action against Rescue-1122 and the Fire Brigade for failing to rescue six children in Shadbagh who died in a house fire on Sunday. The court also directed the commissioner to file a report on suggestions to stop such incidents from taking place in the future. Judicial Activism Panel chairman Muhammad Azhar Siddique had filed the plea saying that the government had spent billions on the construction of Metro Bus and infrastructure projects but had failed to upgrade the Fire Brigade or the ambulance service.
