PESHAWAR:

A vehicle of an army official was damaged in a roadside explosion near Zarghoni Masjid in Hayatabad on Saturday afternoon.

The explosive device was planted to target an army colonel, a police official said. However, he and his family members remained unhurt.

“The windscreen was smashed and other parts of the vehicle were slightly damaged by the explosion,” the policeman said.

The device was hidden in the middle of the road on a greenbelt and was detonated via remote control. The loud noise of the blast created panic among people in the area.
