Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi gave the Golra SHO until Monday to recover the missing man. “The SHO is required to recover the missing man before the next date of hearing,” the court ordered.
Muhammad Salik Jadoon had petitioned the court saying the police was not registering a case after his son, Fahad Sadiq Jadoon, went missing on March 18, 2015. He said Fahad never reached home after leaving his office in Sector G-13/3 that day.
The petitioner has listed the Islamabad inspector general of police, senior superintendent of police, superintendent of police (investigation) and Golra SHO as respondents.
He said the police were not helping the family in tracing their loved one. “The facts and circumstances lead to irresistible conclusion of enforced disappearance,” the petition said. Muhammad requested the court to direct the police to recover his son from illegal and unlawful custody and produce him before the court.
On Friday, the police officials told the court that the petitioner had not yet provided a photograph and mobile phone number of the victim. They also said the police had registered the missing incident in the roznamcha (daily roster) on March 19.
The court, however, observed that “from the statements recorded, it appears that no efforts were made [to recover the man]” and ordered the police to recover the man by the next hearing on May 18.
The court also directed the petitioner to provide a photograph and mobile phone number of his missing son to the authorities.
