Former Pakistani TV actress becomes UK MP

The actres­s worked in severa­l Pakist­ani dramas in the 90s

Former Pakistani TV actress Tasmina Ahmed-Sheikh is now a Scottish MP, having won over two constituencies in Scotland in the 2015 UK elections.

Tasmina managed to secure 26,620 votes, and won with a clear majority, as reported by UK-based newspaper The Courier.

Tasmina had been associated with several drama serials including the well-received Aansoo and Des Pardes. After retiring from acting, she began to manage a women’s right group in Scotland and became actively involved in UK politics. She is also a regular columnist in Scotland's daily newspaper, The National.
