QUETTA:

The World Red Crescent has launched 10-day awareness campaign in Balochistan in connection with the World Red Cross and World Red Crescent Day to sensitise people about serving the humanity and helping vulnerable segments of society.

Balochistan will mark the World Red Crescent Day on Friday like elsewhere in the world. There would be different sessions of trainings, festivals and games during the ten days from May 7 to 17.

“Serving humanity gives me peace,” said Adnanur Rehman who joined as volunteer in Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS). He said the idea of serving humanity always fascinated him. Hence, when a doctor told him about PRCS, he did not give it a second thought and joined as volunteer in 2012. He said Quetta has been witnessing unending explosions for the past many years and helping the victims make me feel useful for the society.
