Pakistan A restrict Sri Lanka A to 95-3

Hosts trail the men in green by 306 runs on day two.

KARACHI: As the Pakistan national team finally came good against Bangladesh after receiving a thrashing in the shorter formats, the Pakistan A side also took a similar route against Sri Lanka A after being routed in the one-dayers in Sri Lanka.

The hosts finished day two of the second unofficial Test on 95-3 after 21 overs and trailed by 306 runs while replying to Pakistan’s first innings total of 401.

Openers Udara Jayasundra, who scored a fluent 31 with six boundaries, and Dhananjaya de Silva (8) were sent back by Mir Hamza, while the other scalp of Madawa Warnapura, who scored five, was taken by Ziaul Haq.

Earlier, Pakistan were all out for 401 in 130 overs as skipper Fawad Alam made 72 off 147 with 11 boundaries, while medium pacer Shehzad Azam chipped in with an important unbeaten knock of 47, hitting seven fours in process.

Tharindu Kaushal picked up a six-wicket haul, while de Silva claimed two scalps.
