Our Correspondent May 17, 2015

HYDERABAD: The election tribunal, Hyderabad, has reserved its judgement in the election petition filed against Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah’s victory from the PS-29 constituency in Khairpur. The petitioner, former chief minister Ghous Ali Shah, alleged massive rigging in the May, 2013, polls in both the PS-29 and its NA-215 constituency that he lost. The petition was earlier filed in Sukkur’s election tribunal but was later moved to Karachi after the chief minister accused the tribunal judge of being biased. He levelled similar charges against the judge of the Karachi election tribunal, Zafar Ahmed Khan Sherwani, before the judgement was reached. The case was then transferred to Hyderabad’s judge Ashfaq Baloch and Ghous challenged this second transfer in the SHC.
